Why Clementina exists

Support for life after birth

The mission

Make postpartum guidance easier to access and everyday help easier to organize.

The beginning

How Clementina began

In 2021, Iza gave birth to twins while caring for a three-year-old. She had something many families do not: trusted friends who were midwives, doulas, and lactation consultants, people she could contact when a question did not need an appointment but still needed an answer.

That experience sharpened a simple truth. A village is not only a list of caring people. It also needs a way to know what would help, who is doing what, and when a family needs professional support rather than another task to coordinate.

“Not everyone has that kind of village. But what if they could?”

How we think about support

Three ways we approach support

Parents need help with daily tasks, a place to ask questions, and time to talk when a question needs more attention.

  1. 01

    Make help specific

A shared plan gives family and friends specific tasks they can take on without asking a recovering parent to direct every detail.

  2. 02

    Build on each conversation

Ongoing text support means the care team can learn the family’s story instead of treating every question like a new beginning.

  3. 03

Use the right kind of care

Everyday questions can happen by text. Focused video visits are there when a live conversation would be more useful.

Iza’s experience and training

Iza Thiago-Munoz’s training as a lactation consultant and work as a postpartum doula inform Clementina’s care approach. Her experience as a mother of three, including twins, informs the product’s understanding of time, coordination, and the emotional weight of asking for help. Lived experience adds empathy and perspective; it is not a substitute for professional standards or a medical endorsement.
